Kallas: Progress on Cyprus could help solve other problems

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas stated that progress towards a solution to the Cyprus problem could aid in resolving other geopolitical issues. Speaking to Turkey's Anadolu Agency, she emphasized that the EU and Turkey should address the Cyprus issue and support UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres' mediation efforts. Efforts to resume negotiations are intensifying, though UN envoy Maria Angela Holguin may delay her contacts until after the NATO summit. Discussions on post-solution security guarantees involve a potential NATO-based structure, but a NATO official confirmed no meetings with the envoy have been planned.
