San Pedro Cholula Municipality in Meksika Launched a Comprehensive Infrastructure Modernization

In the San Pedro Cholula municipality of Meksika's Puebla state, a comprehensive infrastructure modernization project has been initiated under the leadership of Mayor Tonantzin Fernández. The first step of the 2026 public investment projects package, covering the entire region including the Municipality City Hall, neighborhoods, and auxiliary councils, has been taken. In this context, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the renovation of 10 Doğu Caddesi between 2 and 4 Kuzey caddeleri. The street in question will be made more durable and modern using concrete paving. Mayor Fernández emphasized that the local government distributes resources and public projects fairly, considering the needs of all communities. This approach aims to ensure that everyone living in different parts of the city benefits equally.

10 Doğu Caddesi, which is subject to the renovation works, is considered one of the main entrance points to the city center. The Mayor stated that this road was one of the most prioritized demands for the local residents and had become an issue awaiting a solution for years. According to the local residents, this route was last paved more than 60 years ago, and the wear and tear on its surface has become highly pronounced over the years. The old and worn-out road had started to pose safety risks for both vehicles and pedestrians. Therefore, the street will be completely rescued from its former state and equipped with an infrastructure that meets contemporary standards. The renovation in question will significantly ease the traffic flow in the area and make access to the city center much safer.

The launched renovation project is planned to cover an area of approximately one thousand and sixty square meters. Municipal officials announced that a budget of more than 1.6 million Peso has been allocated for this investment project's financing and that this money will be used for the welfare of the families living in Cholula. Thanks to the new concrete paving, the road is aimed to be much safer, more functional, and long-lasting. Mayor Fernández stated that infrastructure projects directly affect the quality of life and that the demands of the local people on this issue are met with great diligence. Furthermore, he did not neglect to thank the residents for their understanding, patience, and trust in the process before the works began. Such investments are considered one of the most solid steps taken for the long-term development of the city.

On the other hand, in the statements made by the Municipal Infrastructure Secretariat, technical details of the project and important information about the process were shared. Accordingly, the renovation of the street and the concrete paving works will be completed in at most forty-five days. The operations will not be limited to just covering the top layer of the road, but will also include the complete replacement of the wastewater drainage network that has reached the end of its service life. Thanks to the simultaneous renovation of the infrastructure and superstructure, this holistic intervention will maximize the lifespan of the road and prevent recurring excavation works in the future. Officials reported that this will result in significant savings in both time and public resources. It was also added that all necessary measures have been taken to complete the project quickly and seamlessly.

The San Pedro Cholula Municipal Administration, which took office for the 2024-2027 term, continues to realize a vision of sustainable development across the city with the works it has carried out. Producing projects that will increase mobility, strengthen security, and support urban development is among the top priorities of this administration.
