Disinformation of the Photo Claimed to be an Instigator of the Menemen Incident

A photo recently circulated on social media platforms stands out as a serious example of disinformation regarding a historical event. According to claims, it is suggested that the three individuals in robes and turbans featured in this photo are the perpetrators of the tragic event that took place in the Menemen district of İzmir on 23 Aralık 1930. However, detailed research and verification studies on the subject have revealed that the claim regarding the individuals in this photo being the ones who orchestrated the said attack is completely unfounded. It is considered that the said image is a tactic aimed at creating a public misconception by manipulating its connection to historical events. It is understood that such unfounded posts aim to create tension by misleading the historical memory of society.
