MadE Puppet Festival for Adults and Children Begins in Milano

The MadE puppet and theater festival, which brings together audiences of all ages in Milano, Italy, is opening its doors. The festival, which will continue until 19 July at the event space named Base, is meticulously organized by the renowned Carlo Colla & Figli Theater Company. This year's event program includes creative workshops and puppet-themed film screenings, in addition to various stage performances. Titled "Diyalog" (Dialogo), this new creation performed to the accompaniment of the musicians' live performance is entirely based on the art of improvisation. The opening day program of the festival is full of highly diverse and enjoyable events catering to visitors from different age groups. The afternoon hours of the first day will kick off with the Carlo Colla & Figli Creative Workshop, targeting children aged 3 to 12. This special workshop will allow young guests to discover their own creativity by using their imaginations. At 18:00 in the evening, the stage will be taken over by the Zanubrio Marionettes troupe, and the comedic show "Lo strano caso dell'ispettore Balanzone ovvero indovina chi c'è per cena", suitable for everyone aged four and over, will be performed. This first-day program stands out as one of the most beautiful proofs of how inclusive and family-friendly the festival is.

The first evening of the festival will end with a highly ambitious project that supports the artistic productivity and stage performances of young talents. The show "Ufo è Urgente forfare l'orizzonte", which will meet the audience at 21:00, aims to bring especially young people aged 16 to 21 together with art. Organized biennially, this large-scale artistic project brings together a giant team of about one hundred people during each event period. Bringing to life with inspiration from a classic work, this project offers a perfect opportunity for young people to showcase their talents in theater and stage design. The fact that the festival not only focuses on traditional puppet arts but also includes contemporary and community-based projects increases the richness and originality of the event.

BASE, a modern and dynamic event space located on Bergognone Street in Milano, will serve as the sole center of the festival this year. Gathering the program, which was spread across different venues in previous years, under a single roof this year makes transportation and event tracking much easier for visitors.
