Nepal flood disaster death toll exceeds 1,000

It was reported that the death toll from the major flood disaster in Nepal has surpassed 1,000. Kathmandu Mayor Balendra Shah emphasized that the disaster was not an ordinary event and was triggered by climate change. Officials continue rescue and relief efforts.

Shah noted in a press statement that such extreme weather events are now occurring more frequently and intensely. An urgent appeal was made to the international community for emergency aid and climate adaptation financing. Widespread infrastructure damage was detected in the region.
