11 People Detained in Ordu Drug Operation, Large Quantity of Drugs Seized

A large-scale and comprehensive operation targeting drug trafficking and street dealers was carried out in Ordu province. As a result of the intense efforts on the ground by the Ordu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the Ordu Province Police Department Narcotic Crimes Branch teams, simultaneous pinpoint raids were conducted, particularly in the Altınordu district. This operation was planned to strike a blow to drug sales networks in the region and root out supply on the streets, and was executed in full cooperation between judicial and administrative units. The meticulous and determined stance of the security forces played a decisive role in deciphering criminal gangs and initiating legal processes.

When examining the details of the operation and the concrete evidence obtained, it is clear that the amount of drugs and weapons seized is significant. During searches and detentions by the teams, a total of 342.5 grams of synthetic cannabis raw material, 34.12 grams of processed synthetic cannabis, 2.97 grams of methamphetamine, 1.50 grams of cannabis, and 45 synthetic drug tablets ready for distribution were found. In addition, as it was determined that the criminals were armed to use force if necessary, 1 unlicensed handgun, 2 smoothbore hunting rifles, and 74 cartridges of 9x19 millimeter caliber belonging to these weapons were taken into safekeeping. These findings reveal that the suspects were involved not only in drug sales but also intertwined with arms trafficking and organized crime activities.

After the prosecution processes and judicial procedures were completed, legal procedures were initiated for the 15 detainees and the results were finalized. Among the suspects referred to the court for trial on charges of 'drug trafficking', 11 were remanded in custody and sent to prison, taking into account the state of evidence and the severity of the crime. While 2 suspects, who were found to have cooperated in their statements and had insufficient evidence regarding the incident, were released after statement procedures, the other 2 suspects were released on bail under judicial control conditions. These varying detention decisions demonstrate that the judicial process functions specifically and fairly for each case.

It is emphasized that the mission of the operation is not only to catch current criminals but also to prevent potential future crimes and provide deterrence. It is stated that the efforts to ensure peace and security in Ordu are not just a temporary measure, but a long-term and sustainable strategy. Police officials have announced that inspections targeting street dealers will continue uninterrupted and that they will remain on full alert to minimize the damage caused by drug addiction in society. This situation once again proves that the safety of citizens and the healthy growth of children in a safe environment are among the state's priorities.

Clearing the streets of drug trafficking positively affects the safety of young people and families in particular, while also contributing to a decrease in crime rates. Additionally, the destruction of seized weapons prevents potential incidents of violence and conflict, which is a critical step in establishing urban peace. This successful implementation in the example of Ordu serves as a model for other provinces, boosting the morale and motivation of security forces fighting drugs. The sensitivity of all segments of society in this regard and their reporting of crimes is considered the greatest support for the success of the struggle.
