Legendary Manager Parreira Undergoes Nosebleed Surgery, Remains in Intensive Care

Carlos Alberto Parreira, one of the legendary managers of the Brezilya Milli Futbol Takımı, continues to battle a serious health problem at the age of 83. The experienced manager, who was hospitalized, successfully underwent a cauterization procedure to stop a nosebleed. According to the news reported by Folha de S.Paulo, although the intervention was successful, Parreira's health condition continues to be closely monitored. In a statement made by the hospital, it was noted that Parreira is kept under sedation and his breathing is supported by medical devices. Although doctors stated there is no life-threatening situation, they have not yet made an estimate regarding when the experienced manager will be discharged from the intensive care unit.

Parreira has been receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Samaritano Barra Hastanesi in Rio de Janeiro since the middle of last haziran. He was hospitalized due to a lung infection caused by the Hodgkin lenfoma he was being treated for. Hodgkin lenfoma is a type of cancer that affects the lymphatic system and causes an accumulation of abnormal cells in the lymph nodes. Parreira has been battling this disease since 2023. His current surgery aims to resolve complications that arose during the prolonged intensive care process, rather than being the main treatment for the disease.

Along with the news regarding Parreira's health condition, the football world is remembering the career and legacy of this great football man. Parreira made history by successfully managing the Brezilya Milli Takımı and winning the Dünya Kupası held in the Amerika Birleşik Devletleri in 1994. This victory was also of great importance as it ended Brezilya's long World Cup drought.
