According to the obtained information and detailed reports, the incident took place in the early hours of the night, specifically around 00:50, on Cemil Şeboy Avenue in the Efeler neighborhood. A 19-year-old driver, identified only by the initials S.K., was driving an automobile with the license plate 35 CHY 151 when he allegedly engaged in a race with another vehicle on the same road. Due to the excessive speed and loss of vehicle control resulting from this dangerous behavior, the car swerved violently and struck Veli Yaşar, a 51-year-old municipal worker who was serving the Buca Municipality's Parks and Gardens Directorate, while he was walking on the road.

Following the devastating impact, the injured victim was immediately attended to by emergency response units. Citizens who witnessed the horror alerted the 112 Emergency Command and Control Center, prompting rapid health teams to dispatch to the scene. The heavily wounded Yaşar was swiftly transported to Buca Seyfi Demirsoy Education and Research Hospital by ambulance. Despite the urgent and comprehensive medical intervention provided by the hospital staff, the severity of the trauma proved too great; medical examinations revealed multiple fractures in the victim's skull and various regions of his body. Although he was initially stabilized in the red zone and transferred to the intensive care unit for a life-and-death struggle, the medical team's tireless efforts were unfortunately insufficient, and Veli Yaşar passed away, leaving his family and colleagues in deep mourning.

One of the most striking aspects of this case is the visual evidence that surfaced regarding the exact moment of the fatal accident and the driver's subsequent behavior. It was revealed that the entire incident, from the collision to the immediate aftermath, was recorded second by second by the dashboard camera of a vehicle traveling behind the suspect's car. The footage clearly captures the moment S.K.'s vehicle violently hits Veli Yaşar, throwing him to the ground. However, more controversially, the video shows the driver pulling over to the right, stepping out of the car to look at the victim he struck, and then, instead of calling for help or waiting for the authorities, callously getting back into his vehicle and fleeing the scene to disappear into the night.

The legal process against the suspect moved swiftly following the identification and manhunt launched by the Buca Police Department. After the hit-and-run, law enforcement agencies initiated a large-scale operation to apprehening the fugitive driver. Thanks to the meticulous and determined follow-up of the police teams, the suspect S.K. was located and taken into custody in a relatively short period. Upon the completion of the necessary procedural proceedings at the police station, the suspect was referred to the judicial authorities with a demand for his arrest. Standing before the court, the judge overseeing the case evaluated the evidence, including the flight risk and the severity of the negligence, and ordered the arrest of the 19-year-old driver, sending him to prison to await trial.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident is currently ongoing, with authorities working to clarify all details regarding the alleged race with the second vehicle and the exact chain of events. Meanwhile, the funeral of Veli Yaşar was held, attended by his grieving family, friends, and municipal coworkers, who struggled to come to terms with the untimely loss of their colleague.
