2026 World Cup Round of 16: Fixtures, Dates and Match Schedule Announced

The 2026 FIFA World Cup has taken excitement to the peak by crossing a critical threshold into the elimination rounds following the completion of the group stages.

Powerful teams such as France, Spain, Germany and Brazil, who are counted among the tournament favorites, as well as the defending champions Argentina, have completed their preparations to take the stage.

Among the host nations, Canada became the first team to write its name in the last 16 round of the tournament by leaving South Africa behind, while Brazil under Carlo Ancelotti also secured their passage with a hard-fought victory against Japan.

Germany became one of the biggest surprise teams to bid farewell to the tournament, running out of luck in the penalty shootout after normal time and extra time ended in a draw against Paraguay.

According to the FIFA statement, the elimination round matches will be held in a four-day marathon starting on July 4 and ending on July 7 to determine the quarter-final candidates.
