Security measures meeting held in Ankara prior to 36. NATO Summit

Chaired by Ankara Provincial Police Director Maksut Yüksek, a critical coordination meeting regarding security measures to be implemented across the province within the scope of the 36. NATO Summit was held. The meeting was conducted in an atmosphere of evaluation and consultation with duty police chiefs to ensure the upcoming summit passes securely. It is stated that such meetings hold great importance for ensuring coordination among security units and reviewing the precautions to be taken. Yüksek, emphasizing once again the sensitivities regarding the maintenance of public order and peace during the meeting, expressed that all units must be on high alert.

Hosting organizations of international significance like the 36. NATO Summit in Ankara requires making security protocols across the city even tighter. In this context, the Provincial Police Directorate has taken action to plan extra security measures to be taken during the summit and to ensure harmony among enforcement units. In the meeting, strategies to strike a balance between the safety of visitors and participants and the uninterrupted flow of city life were discussed. Security forces are making intense efforts to prepare a comprehensive security plan by considering every scenario against possible risks.

Participating police chiefs and unit commanders in charge exchanged information on preparations and existing capacities in their responsible areas. Issues such as increasing entry and exit controls across Ankara, intensifying the number of security personnel at critical points, and tightening traffic control measures were discussed. Police Directorate officials emphasized that the planned steps will be implemented meticulously to ensure peace and security in the city in the full sense before and during the summit.

Ankara Police Director Maksut Yüksek, in his address to the participants, underscored the need for personnel motivation to be high and a professional approach to be exhibited. In accordance with the rapidly approaching NATO Summit date, security measures in Ankara will gradually start to be put into effect. To minimize possible disruptions affecting the daily life of citizens, security units will increase preventive and protective security practices at different points of the city. Among the planned measures are the establishment of special security zones in and around the center where the summit will be held and the implementation of alternative routes on ring roads.
