14 new detentions in the Ahbap Association investigation: Total number of detentions rises to 38

New details have come to light in the investigation of the Ahbap Association and Şile Municipality conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Within the scope of the file in which Haluk Levent's brother Berkant Acil is under arrest, it was determined that the tender for the 35th International Şile Cloth Festival was irregularly obtained through a shell company.

In the investigation, it was discovered that donations made to the association were misused and unjust profits were obtained. It was documented that a portion of the donations was transferred to the personal account of Haluk Levent's assistant, Yeliz Kaya, and then sent to the suspects' accounts. Additionally, a financial expert report confirmed that the stage, lighting, and sound expenses of the festival were inflated with fake invoices.

Simultaneous operations were carried out in Istanbul, as well as in the provinces of İzmir, Kocaeli, and Muğla. While 14 of the 17 suspects for whom arrest warrants were issued were detained, the total number of detentions reached 38, and the appointment of trustees for 4 companies was decided.
