Operation Against 14 Suspects Within the Scope of Ahbap Association Corruption Investigation

A simultaneous operation was conducted against 14 suspects and 4 companies within the scope of the Ahbap Association investigation carried out by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The investigation expanded upon findings that donations made to the association were misappropriated and the existence of a significant corruption network.

According to the investigation, Haluk Levent's brother Berkant Acil acquired the 35th International Şile Bezi Festival of Şile Municipality through irregular direct procurement using a shell company. It was confirmed by a financial expert report that the stage, lighting, and sound expenses of the festival were inflated with fake invoices. In this context, it was revealed that a portion of the donations was transferred to the personal account of Haluk Levent's assistant, Yeliz Kaya.

According to the findings, it was determined that a total of 125 million 765 thousand TL was transferred from the said personal account to the accounts of Berkant Acil and associated suspects. While numerous digital materials were seized during the operations carried out in Istanbul, İzmir, Kocaeli, and Muğla provinces, the suspects were detained.
