Light Commercial Vehicle and Tractor Collide in Amasya: 3 Dead, 2 Injured

In the tragic accident that occurred in the TİGEM location on the Amasya-Mecitözü highway, a light commercial vehicle and a tractor collided head-on. Following the severe collision, gendarmerie, police, and 112 Emergency Health teams were rapidly dispatched to the area. Due to the impact of the accident, a total of three people in the light commercial vehicle, whose identities have not yet been announced, lost their lives. After the examinations and initial interventions at the accident scene, the bodies taken from the scene were taken to the morgue to be handed over to the relevant authorities. The 112 Emergency Health teams, who arrived in the area immediately after the incident, meticulously performed their first interventions on the injured at the scene. The injured tractor driver and the two other injured individuals in the light commercial vehicle were quickly transported to Amasya University Sabuncuoğlu Şerefeddin Training and Research Hospital, accompanied by ambulances. It was learned that the injured who arrived at the hospital were subjected to necessary examinations and tests in the emergency department by specialist doctors at the hospital. Treatment processes at varying intensities were planned depending on the conditions of the injured who had or had not overcome life-threatening situations. By adhering to the golden hour rules in such emergencies, it was ensured that the injured reached a fully equipped hospital in the shortest time possible.

Gendarmerie and police teams rapidly took security measures on the highway where the accident occurred and also initiated redirecting efforts to avoid disrupting traffic flow. Crime scene investigation teams tried to determine how the accident happened second by second, examining the damage to the collided vehicles, tire marks, and skid marks on the road. According to initial assessments, it is considered that one of the vehicles might have made a lane violation or that driving over the speed limits might have occurred. The investigation was deepened by resorting to the statements of eyewitnesses and security camera (MOBESE) recordings in the area, if any. At this stage where the investigation is ongoing, it was reported that judicial processes are being carried out by judicial authorities to determine the exact cause of the accident.
