Operation Against 28 Individuals Celebrating with Firearms in 4 Provinces Including Ankara!

Details are emerging regarding a large-scale security operation launched by the Çorum Provincial Gendarmerie Command. Authorities announced that a simultaneous operation was carried out against individuals who fired guns into the air during weddings and celebrations. These operations, conducted simultaneously in a total of 4 provinces including Ankara, were carried out with great meticulousness. Within the scope of the operation, legal proceedings were initiated against a total of 28 individuals involved in these actions, which disrupt public peace and pose a serious threat to the environment. It was reported that security forces continue to work actively in the field to prevent such actions.

The operation by the security forces was planned and executed centrally in Çorum. As a result of long-standing intelligence and technical surveillance efforts, Çorum Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams identified the identities and addresses of the suspects. Following physical surveillance, simultaneous raids were conducted on suspects located in different provinces at the same time. During these raids, shotguns, pistols, and various bullets used for firing into the air were seized. The detained suspects were handed over to the Provincial Gendarmerie Command for the purpose of taking and completing their statements.

Firing guns into the air for celebration stands out as an increasing source of danger in recent years. Tragic incidents where falling bullets cause injuries to many people, and sometimes even deaths, occasionally make it into the press. Furthermore, there are always risks of these bullets damaging electronic devices people carry or structural facilities. This situation, which directly threatens public health and security, is frequently condemned by authorities and considered a criminal offense. Security forces continue to take necessary steps without pushing legal boundaries to prevent such unfounded and dangerous actions.

Within the scope of the investigation launched in Çorum, it is stated that the perpetrators committed similar crimes in other provinces and it was understood that this criminal organization is widespread.
