Simultaneous inspection of 578 businesses in Antalya: Fines imposed

Antalya Provincial Police Department teams conducted a comprehensive inspection on daily accommodation facilities and car rental companies operating across the city. A total of 60 teams and 130 personnel participated in the operation carried out within the scope of the Identity Notification Law No. 1774. Authorities state that such simultaneous controls are being continued consistently in order to maintain security standards and prevent illegal activities in the region, which is a tourism city.

A total of 578 businesses were thoroughly inspected during the extensive audits. The teams individually checked the guest registration systems of the accommodation facilities and the customer tracking procedures of the car rental companies. Compliance situations regarding security cameras, employee work permits, and identity notification obligations of such businesses were evaluated on-site. These comprehensive inspections aim to help minimize any risks that could threaten the safety of tourists and the local public.

Administrative sanctions were imposed on businesses and individuals found to have violated various laws as a result of the on-site inspections. Two separate businesses faced penal action for failing to send instant data to security forces. Additionally, a business was penalized for not officially registering its employees despite it being a legal obligation. Another individual was subjected to legal proceedings after it was discovered that they provided accommodation to customers without entering their identity information into the system.

Daily accommodation facilities and car rental services attract the special attention of security forces because they are sectors that inherently involve short-term and high mobility. Neglecting identity checks in such businesses can sometimes create opportunities for the financing of terrorism, smuggling, and the concealment of other organized crimes.
