Young man who had an accident while taking a pillow to his father in Antalya loses his life

Osman Kutay Cevheroğlu, who was severely injured in a traffic accident that occurred on 24 Haziran in the Kepez district of Antalya, passed away after an approximately 15-day fight for his life, despite all the doctors' interventions. The young man, who left home to take a pillow to his father receiving treatment at the hospital, had a traffic accident on his way back. This tragic event both plunged the Cevheroğlu family into deep sorrow and once again brought traffic safety concerns in the area to the agenda.

The incident occurred on Antalya Bulvarı, located within the borders of the Kepez district of Antalya. According to the information obtained, Osman Kutay Cevheroğlu, who took a pillow from home for his father's needs at the hospital, was returning with his motorcycle. At the intersection where Antalya Bulvarı and 75. Yıl Caddesi meet, the young driver lost control of his motorcycle and fell to the ground. The motorcycle and the driver, sliding forward on the asphalt, crashed into the back of a car waiting at a red light.

Cevheroğlu, who lost consciousness due to the impact of the collision, was given first aid by the citizens who came to the scene. Upon notification of the situation, police and medical teams were dispatched to the area. After providing initial medical treatment to the injured young man at the scene, the medical teams transported him to the hospital. Upon arriving at the hospital, the young man was admitted to the intensive care unit, where he fought for his life for approximately 15 days.

Following the days spent in intensive care, the bitter news came yesterday evening. Despite all the efforts and medical interventions of the doctors, Osman Kutay Cevheroğlu could not be saved and lost his life. After the completed autopsy and prosecutor's procedures, the young man's body was handed over to his family from the Antalya Adli Tıp Kurumu morgue. During the handover of the body, the young man's mother bursting into tears saying "My baby" deeply saddened everyone around.

It was learned that the young man had gotten married 1,5 years ago and lost his life. The funeral, which was taken to Kurşunlu Mezarlığı amid the tears of his mother and relatives, was sent off on its final journey to be laid to rest. This painful event once again revealed how sudden and devastating consequences motorcycle accidents can have. While the tragic end of a young life makes the mourning process difficult for his family and loved ones, it served as a reminder that drivers need to be more careful regarding traffic safety.
