14 suspects detained in Antalya-centered prostitution operation

Under the coordination of the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a major operation was carried out as a result of a large-scale investigation into prostitution trade and related crimes throughout the city. Following intense technical and physical surveillance by security units for approximately three months, it was determined that criminal elements and evidence were identified. Within this scope, it was decided to conduct simultaneous raids on addresses identified as locations where the criminal organization earned income and operated.

Within the scope of the operation, simultaneous raids were also conducted in Adana province to target a network extending beyond Antalya to other cities, leading to the capture of suspects. In point operations carried out by police teams in the early hours of the morning, searches were conducted at many addresses, and digital materials and income records were seized. Acting in accordance with the plan prepared by the security forces, strict measures were taken to maintain the confidentiality of the operation and prevent the suspects from escaping.

As a result of the operations, a total of 18 suspects were taken into custody, including individuals accused and claimed to be organizers. After the statements of the police complainants were taken and the interrogations were completed, 14 of the suspects referred to the courthouse were detained by the judgeship and sent to prison. It was learned that the remaining suspects were released under judicial control conditions or that their procedures continued after their statements were taken.

In the data seized within the scope of the investigation, examinations were deepened based on allegations that the criminal organization generated significant income by including individuals from home and abroad into the system. It was determined that individuals directed to the prostitution network were persuaded and their needs such as accommodation were met to ensure their involvement in the crime. Police teams are conducting a meticulous study to investigate whether this network has financial flows and connections with other crimes, and the possibility that the scope of the operation may expand is being considered.

It has been started to prosecute the suspects detained and arrested in Antalya and Adana for crimes such as organization membership, engaging in prostitution trade, and obtaining income from crime. The existence of possibilities that the suspects might destroy criminal evidence and flight risks were shown as the reasons for the detention decisions by the judgeship. Judicial proceedings continue uninterruptedly in order to complete the investigation processes regarding the issue and to clarify the status of other defendants.
