208 Litres of Illegal Alcohol Seized in Antalya's Alanya and Manavgat Districts

Antalya Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams continue their inspections and operations uninterruptedly to prevent the production and sale of illegal alcohol throughout the city. In this context, under the coordination of the Alanya and Manavgat Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices and as a result of intelligence work, certain businesses believed to be holding and preparing illegal alcohol for sale were identified. In light of the information obtained, gendarmerie teams conducted detailed searches in the storage sections of businesses in the Alanya and Manavgat districts as part of the operation at the determined addresses. As a result of these meticulous searches, a total of 208 litres of illegal alcohol, estimated to be prepared for sale, were seized. The products seized during the operation were confiscated for examination purposes and to serve as judicial evidence, while a judicial process was initiated regarding the incident.

Upon examining the details of the operation, it was learned that the teams identified the persons found at the businesses and initiated the necessary legal proceedings against the suspects connected to the incident. The investigation is being conducted in a multi-faceted manner, aiming to determine how the seized illegal alcohol was produced, the sources from which it was obtained, and whether these products were released to the market. Authorities draw attention to the fact that illegal alcohol can pose serious risks to human health due to the unknown conditions of production. It is warned that consuming alcohol without bandrols (tax stamps) and without passing official inspections can create vital dangers for citizens. Emphasizing that the poisonous components in such substances can have fatal consequences, the public is asked to be sensitive.

In the official assessment made by the Antalya Provincial Gendarmerie Command regarding the issue, it was stated that the operations carried out across the city within the scope of the fight against smuggling will continue with determination. Authorities announced that the work against illegal production and trade will continue in two different dimensions: both in the intelligence field and in field inspections. Citizens are also asked to cooperate on this issue and to relay information to the security forces as soon as possible if they encounter suspicious situations. It was stated that such operations against illegal alcohol production and sales, which threaten public health, are of great importance in terms of deterrence.

It was recorded that the samples of illegal alcohol seized as a result of the operations were sent for detailed examination and that the reports are being awaited. It was expressed that the work to determine the person or persons directly linked to the incident has reached the final stage.
