Government and Teachers' Unions in Arjantin Reach a 17,8 Percent Wage Increase Agreement

In the Santa Cruz province of Arjantin, the hükyet and teachers' unions ADOSAC and AMET signed an agreement covering salaries and working conditions for the second half of the year. The parties agreed to plan a new collective bargaining meeting in ağustos to address working and employment conditions in more detail. This comprehensive and one-time offer presented by the Claudio Vidal government was a decisive factor in the ongoing negotiations. Officials expressed their satisfaction with the peaceful resolution of the process and their efforts to ensure the smooth continuation of the education system.

The accepted salary increase formula is based on a detailed calculation consisting of several different stages and gradual structures. Accordingly, the Provincial Education Council (Consejo Provincial de Educación) will apply an additional 3 percent increase in temmuz on top of the point value (valor punto) determined for haziran. This additional payment will be reflected in the teachers' salaries within temmuz through a complementary payroll. In addition to this, a general 10 percent increase that will directly affect temmuz salaries will be integrated into the system. These monthly adjustments are seen as part of a strategy to provide a kind of protection against inflation and gradually increase purchasing power. Thus, teachers will feel a significant improvement in their salaries by the end of the year, not only with the initial raises but also with regular monthly additions. Officials state that they also aim to minimize the potential shocking effects of these gradual increases on the provincial budget.

On the other hand, ADOSAC union managers clearly emphasized that they have not completely abandoned their demands following this agreement and that the process is not over. Union representatives clearly stated that they will continue to demand further improvements in salaries and benefits if negotiations resume in ekim. It was stated that the struggle to raise the living standards of education workers and further secure their working conditions will continue. This situation leaves the door open for new bargaining periods between the province and the unions in the coming months. As a result, while the current agreement provides short-term relief, it is obvious that long-term satisfaction depends on the success of future negotiations.
