Minister Kurum: We earned citizens 4,5 million TL in 2 days with DOA

Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum made important statements regarding the successful results obtained within the scope of the Natural Resources Respect Project (DOA), implemented to protect the environment. Emphasizing that the project received great interest from the public, Minister Kurum drew attention to the sustainability of the application and the participation of citizens, detailing the functioning of the system and the economic benefit it created.

In his statement, Minister Kurum said, "Our nation loved and embraced DOA," expressing that the project's social acceptance was gratifying. Stating that above-expected participation was achieved in a very short time after the introduction and implementation of the project, Kurum noted that this situation plays a critical role in increasing environmental awareness and encouraging recycling in economic terms.

Sharing a success story supported by concrete data in his speech, Kurum said that an incredible figure was reached in just two days since the system was activated. Minister announced that 4,5 million packaging units were brought into the system in this period as a result of citizens' intense interest and environmental sensitivity, emphasizing that the number increases every day and they are getting closer to the targeted sustainability point with firm steps.

Murat Kurum stated that citizens are reimbursed in accordance with the operation of the system depending on the amount of packaging collected, and shared the monetary dimension of this economic contribution with the public. He stated that a total of 4,5 million TL was transferred to citizens' accounts within the recycling economy as a result of collecting 4,5 million packaging units, and the amount was deposited. He explained that this situation provides a gain for citizens while also contributing to the reduction of recycling costs and the national economy.

On the other hand, Minister Kurum announced that work is continuing to expand the project and increase its scope in the coming period, aiming to both prevent environmental pollution and enable citizens to be economically involved in this process. Adding that the system functions not only for the environment but also as a mechanism of social solidarity and economic support, he emphasized the importance of everyone contributing to this process and thanked them for their sensitivity.
