Police teams assigned to the Bingöl Provincial Police Department continue their extensive efforts to ensure peace and security throughout the province. In this context, numerous successful operations have been carried out, specifically targeting drug trade and smuggling activities. Teams conducted simultaneous raids on addresses where they had gathered intelligence and conducted physical surveillance, thoroughly searching locations where there was strong suspicion of criminal activity. During these searches, a significant amount of narcotics determined to have been acquired illegally and materials facilitating the use of these substances were seized. While details regarding the operations were shared by authorities, it was stated that a major loss was averted by preventing the seized materials from entering the market.

In the first phase of the operation, focused on combating drugs, security forces confiscated 57.59 grams of marijuana and 9 cannabis plants prepared for use. In addition to these substances, weapons were also included in the inventory seized during the operation; 1 pistol, 2 magazines belonging to this pistol, and 18 cartridges prepared for use in weapons were found. During the meticulous searches by police teams in the operation area, efforts were not only directed against drug substances but also against unlicensed weapons carried or kept for the purpose of deterrence. It was emphasized that the seized pistol and ammunition were of great importance in preventing potential acts of violence between criminal organizations or individual users. It was learned that if the weapons were unlicensed, a process would be initiated against the relevant individuals with the added charge of 'Violation of Law No. 6136'.

Following the seizure of drugs and weapons, the scope of the operation was expanded, and findings related to smuggling activities were found during detailed searches at targeted addresses. Searches conducted specifically to prevent high tax evasion on tobacco products resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of products with high market value that damage the state's tax revenues. In these Bingöl-centered operations, police uncovered 2,658 packs of illegal or fake stamped cigarettes and 1,930 grams of hookah tobacco. It was highlighted that such illegal products both financially harm the state and pose a threat to public health as they have not undergone health inspections. During their examinations of the compartments where products were hidden, teams also encountered a large amount of processed tobacco products.

The list of products seized during the search operations covers quite a wide range, with the quantity of tobacco products being particularly striking. In the operation details, 9,500 prepared and ready-for-sale tubes (makaron) and 140 cigars were secured by the police. Additionally, 82 kilograms of hookah charcoal, determined to have been brought illegally and used in relation to hookah culture, were among the seized items. This major seizure of tobacco and tobacco products demonstrates how comprehensive the operation against smuggling networks in Bingöl was and the zero-tolerance stance police exhibit against all types of crime. All seized materials were taken to the police department warehouses for examination and reporting and were preserved as evidence.

Work to identify the suspects detained within the scope of the operation or against whom judicial proceedings were initiated on suspicion of crime has been completed. It was learned that a judicial process has been initiated regarding the detainees apprehended in the operation where this amount of drugs, weapons, and illegal tobacco products were seized in Bingöl. After the suspects' statements were taken at the police station, it was stated that the investigation against them would be examined in depth at the judicial authorities to which they were referred, and requests for their detention would be evaluated. Bingöl Provincial Police Department officials announced to the public that the fight against crime and criminals throughout the province will continue uninterrupted, that operations will be continued with determination for the peace of the citizens, and that efforts to prevent such incidents continue on a 24/7 basis.
