Gendarmerie Specialized Sergeant Going to Fight Report in Eskişehir Martyred in Armed Attack

In the tragic incident that occurred in the rural Narlı Neighborhood of Eskişehir's Mihalıççık district, a gendarmerie personnel lost his life as a result of an armed attack. The incident started when a suspect named İbrahim G. fired a hunting rifle into the air after an argument with his family. Gendarmerie Specialized Sergeant Mehmet Demirbaş and Narlı Neighborhood Headman Mutlu Şahin, who arrived at the scene, took action to talk with the suspect İbrahim G. Gendarmerie Specialized Sergeant Mehmet Demirbaş, who was severely injured, was immediately taken to Mihalıççık State Hospital. Despite all medical interventions made at the hospital, Demirbaş could not be saved and was martyred. The bitter news of the martyr, who was married and a father of two, was delivered to his family residing in the Vadişehir Neighborhood of Eskişehir's Odunpazarı district. His relatives and neighbors who received the news were plunged into great sorrow and mourning. A Turkish flag was hung on the martyred heroic gendarmerie's house to share the grief.

Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi announced the incident on his social media account. In his published message, Minister Çiftçi wished God's mercy upon Gendarmerie Specialized Sergeant Mehmet Demirbaş, who was martyred on duty, and offered condolences to his grieving family and the Turkish nation.
