Ghana Government Initiates Licensing Process for Women's Bank

A significant milestone has been reached in the establishment of the long-planned Women's Bank by the Ghana government. According to a statement made by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, 400 million Ghana cedis (GH¢) has officially been deposited into an escrow account at the Bank of Ghana (BoG) to bring the project to life. The transfer of this amount means overcoming one of the most critical obstacles in the process of obtaining a banking license. This development confirms that the legal and financial infrastructure required to initiate financial regulatory processes has been provided.
