RSS Annual Meeting Concludes in India: Branch Expansion and Population Balance on the Agenda

In the Belagavi city of India's Karnataka state, the Akhil Bharatiya Prant Pracharak Baithak meeting, organized annually by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), was completed on 12 July. The event, attended by 226 activists from all across the country, was led by the organization's top leaders, Sarsanghachalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat and Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale. A comprehensive review of the training camps conducted at various levels since March 2026 constituted one of the main agenda items of the meeting. The meeting also drew attention for putting strategies on the table to strengthen the neighborhood-based branch structure of the RSS and to recruit new members. It represented a process in which important decisions were made in line with the organization's goals of increasing its influence on Indian society.

During this period, it was reported that a total of 83 Sangh Shiksha Varg and 12 Karyakarta Vikas Varg training programs were successfully completed across the country. In these camps, 18,842 volunteers received training in various fields, including daily branch activities, rural development, family awareness, disaster management, and environmental issues. The details of the maximum branch expansion plan to be implemented throughout September were laid out by the officials. Reviewing the programs completed so far within the scope of the organization's centenary events and planning the remaining activities were also discussed. Various roadmaps were drawn to actively integrate individuals who have connected with the organization on the occasion of its centenary into the system through social work and the Panch Parivartan initiatives.

It was announced that the leaders also elaborated on the field programs and visit schedules planned for the 2026-27 period. At the meeting, India's current demographic structure was addressed, and the upcoming census process and the problems arising from the population imbalance in the country were comprehensively discussed. Furthermore, deep concerns were expressed regarding the increasing negative impacts of drug use, which threatens public health. It was emphasized that priority steps must be taken to combat drugs and for addiction recovery efforts. The planning of programs to be organized to commemorate the 650th birth anniversary of the spiritual figure Sant Shiromani Ravidas Maharaj was also brought to the agenda.

During the meeting, deep sorrow was expressed over the irregularity incident detected during the counting of revenues obtained from the donation box of the newly constructed Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in the state. The participants expressed their confidence that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and police operations, initiated upon the request of the Temple Trust (Teerth Kshetra Nyas), would shed light on the issue and reach a definitive conclusion. It was emphasized that the spiritual value and deep faith attached to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple by millions of Hindu believers in India must not be shaken. It was stated that the Trust officials are expected to take the necessary measures to ensure that such incidents, which tarnish the deep devotion and respect of the Ram Bhakts towards the temple, definitely do not recur in the future.

This annual review meeting clearly reflects the inclusive role the RSS aims to play in India's social and cultural life. The organization not only expands its base but also pursues an active monitoring and intervention policy on strategic issues such as the country's demographic structure, public order, and cultural heritage. The organization, celebrating its centenary, aims to guide society in a broad spectrum ranging from rural development to the preservation of family structure. The issues of population balance and the census discussed at the meeting have the potential to play a significant role in shaping India's future domestic political dynamics. In this context, the meeting served as a critical forum where a comprehensive and multidimensional strategic vision regarding India's internal social fabric was laid out.
