Motorcycle accident in Maltepe, Istanbul: 19-year-old Ebubekir Çubuk loses his life

In a traffic accident that occurred in the Zümrütevler neighborhood of Maltepe, Istanbul, 19-year-old university student Ebubekir Çubuk lost his life. The young man, who was severely injured when his motorcycle went out of control while riding at midnight, could not be saved despite all the interventions of the medical teams.

The sudden death of Ebubekir Çubuk, who was registered in the population of Yakalı village in the Atkaracalar district of Çankırı, caused deep mourning for his family and in his hometown. The death of the young student, who was the child of Sabiha Gökçen Havalimanı employee R. Çubuk, devastated his loved ones and social media. His family and relatives shared condolence messages expressing their sorrow.

An investigation has been launched regarding the incident. Authorities are conducting a comprehensive technical investigation to determine how the accident occurred and its exact cause. Ebubekir Çubuk's funeral prayer will be held on Wednesday, 15 Temmuz 2026, at noon in Yakalı village, and he will subsequently be buried in the family cemetery.
