Istanbul police made 13,272 arrests in FETÖ operations in the last 10 years

Following the coup attempt on July 15, 2016, the Istanbul Security Directorate shared with data the struggle it has resolutely maintained against FETÖ for the last ten years. In this context, tens of thousands of suspects, including soldiers, public employees, judges, and prosecutors, were detained in thousands of operations conducted.

In the 9,626 operations carried out, a total of 34,116 suspects were caught and referred to judicial authorities. The number of suspects who were arrested by the courts and sent to prison was announced as 13,272. Police units are relentlessly continuing their operations against the terrorist organization's cell houses and current structures.

While judicial control measures were applied to 8,536 of the captured suspects, 12,308 people were released after their procedures. Working in coordination with prosecutors' offices and the National Intelligence Organization, Istanbul police inflicted significant blows on the organization's military and civilian structures.
