48-year-old Romanian worker in Italy loses his life from the impact of a work machine on his last day of work

In Sesto Fiorentino, Italy, a 48-year-old Romanian construction worker named Cornel Teslaru Titi lost his life after being struck by a work machine at a depot under construction. The accident occurred on the worker's last day on the job; he was planning to return to his family in northern Italy that evening.

The incident took place on Thursday morning at a construction site in the Osmannoro industrial zone. While Titi was leveling a concrete floor, he noticed his machine getting stuck. As he got off to inspect the malfunction, a piece that broke off from the machine struck him in the chest.

Medical teams arriving at the scene were unable to save the worker. The Florence Chief Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation to determine whether the incident was caused by a technical malfunction or a failure to comply with occupational safety regulations. There are currently no suspects, and the machine involved in the incident has been seized for technical examination.
