UAV attack on Turkish ship in the Black Sea: 1 dead, 3 injured

The Turkish-flagged dry cargo ship named "Mv Reyhan Sarı", carrying coal from Russia's Taman Port to Trabzon, was subjected to a UAV attack off the coast of Novorossiysk. In the attack, 1 engine room personnel working on the ship lost their life, while 3 people were injured.

The incident once again highlighted the security risks of the war on maritime traffic in the Black Sea. The fact that civilian ships are also in danger on routes close to conflict zones increases trade and navigation concerns in the region. The ship being targeted along with its coal cargo demonstrated how fragile maritime transportation in the region is.

Following the attack, it is believed that processes regarding the evacuation of the personnel on board and security measures have been initiated. Turkish authorities have launched an investigation into the matter, and steps are expected to be taken to shed light on the incident.
