Kazakhstan's IT Services Market Broke a Record with 5.6 Billion Dollars in 2025

Kazakhstan's information technology (IT) services market reached a historic peak in 2025, surpassing all expectations. According to official data released by the National Statistics Bureau, the total value of the sector's services exceeded 2.9 trillion tenge (approximately 5.6 billion US dollars). This impressive figure indicates a 70 percent increase compared to the previous year. Furthermore, this tremendous growth means a 4.6-fold expansion since 2021, when official statistics for the sector began to be recorded. The aforementioned data clearly reveals how rapidly digital transformation has accelerated across the country and how the technology ecosystem is undergoing a profound transformation.
The rapid and steady rise in the market is fundamentally driven by the increasing demand for digital technologies in every sector of the country's economy. According to the report, the primary force dominating Kazakhstan's IT market was local customers; domestic clients accounted for 86.7 percent of all IT services provided. Kazakh companies offered over 2.5 trillion tenge (4.8 billion US dollars) worth of services to customers in the domestic market, and this figure showed a 76.7 percent increase compared to the previous year. The 49.5 percent increase in services provided to businesses and the more than sixfold acceleration in demand from individual consumers prove that digitalization has taken root not only at the corporate level but also in the daily lives of the public.
The immense success in the domestic market was also reflected in export figures internationally, indicating that Kazakhstan is on its way to becoming a global technology player. The export of IT services conducted by Kazakh IT companies reached a total of 391.6 billion tenge (753 million US dollars), a 28.9 percent increase compared to the previous year. This promising export revenue constituted 13.3 percent of the country's total market. This situation confirms that in the Central Asia region, Kazakhstan has become a competitive technology hub capable of providing services not only to its domestic market but also across borders.
On a city-by-city basis, Almatı and Astana undeniably stand out as the technological heart of the country. These two major cities hold exactly 92.2 percent of Kazakhstan's IT services market. By nearly doubling the previous year's figures, Almatı draws attention as the sector's number one locomotive with a volume of 1.8 trillion tenge (3.5 billion US dollars). The capital, Astana, closely follows it with a market share of 883.8 billion tenge (1.7 billion US dollars) and a growth rate of 45.4 percent. This concentration in regional centers demonstrates how technology investments are focused on major cities.
Despite this, technological development and digital expansion have begun to spread to the rest of the country; 16 of the country's 20 regions recorded positive growth. In particular, the Ulytau and Türkistan regions achieved the strongest momentum by increasing their market volumes 2.8 times and 2.6 times, respectively. The Mangistau region also contributed to this success by exhibiting an impressive growth rate of 67.5 percent. On the other hand, the contraction in market volume in the Almatı Region, North Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan, and Jetisu regions brings to light a significant developmental disparity between regions and highlights the need for a balanced distribution of future technology investments.
