В цифрах

250 clothing boxes

The Konak Municipality Directorate of Climate Change and Zero Waste has placed clothing collection boxes throughout the district in order to ensure the recycling of unused clothes. With the implementation started within the scope of the Zero Waste Regulation, it is aimed to collect textile waste separately from household waste and to separate it at the source.

Thanks to the boxes, which were initially placed on İnönü Caddesi and are planned to reach a total of 250, citizens will be able to leave clothes such as pants, shirts, and jackets; home textile products such as bed linens, curtains, and towels; and accessories such as shoes and bags for recycling. The collected waste will be converted back into fiber at recycling facilities and used in yarn production.

Konak Mayor Nilüfer Çınarlı Mutlu invited citizens to leave their unused textile products in the boxes, emphasizing that waste piles forming next to garbage containers must be prevented. Thanks to the project, both the environment will be protected and sustainability will be ensured by incorporating waste into the economy.
