10 Percent Increase in Public Transportation Fares in Malatya

The Malatya Metropolitan Municipal Council decided to increase public transportation fares within the city and between districts by 10 percent during its July regular meeting. With the decision taken, the fare tariffs of buses, minibuses, and vehicles providing inter-district services affiliated with MOTAŞ will be rearranged.

The full fare for urban transportation, which is currently 25 TL, is expected to rise to 27.50 TL following the 10 percent increase. Student fares will increase from 15 TL to 16.50 TL. The new prices will be valid as of 1 August 2026.

Following the decision, thousands of passengers in the city will travel according to the new tariff starting in August. The updated fare list for other transportation lines is also expected to be announced by the municipality in the coming days.
