Restaurant Brawl in Muğla Ends in Murder: Murder Suspect Caught in Cemetery

The bloody incident that occurred in a restaurant located in the Yılanlı area of Muğla's Menteşe district turned into a murder as the argument escalated. Allegedly, a harsh argument broke out between 35-year-old Coşkun Karataş and 44-year-old Halil Korkut for a previously unknown reason. When this argument turned into a physical fight in a very short time, the situation completely spiraled out of control. Instead of separating or stopping the fight, suspect Coşkun Karataş aimed the shotgun he was carrying at his victim. As a result of Karataş opening fire with the gun, many people at the scene witnessed moments of terror.

After being hit by shotgun pellets, Halil Korkut was severely injured and collapsed on the spot in a pool of blood. Upon surrounding citizens and restaurant workers immediately reporting the situation to medical and police teams, numerous units were dispatched to the area. Medical personnel, who arrived at the scene quickly, attempted to provide first aid to the injured man. However, during the checks, it was determined that Halil Korkut had lost his life due to the severe wounds he sustained. This tragic death plunged everyone in the restaurant into deep sorrow and shock.

Coşkun Karataş, who panicked after committing the murder, headed towards a vehicle to quickly leave the scene. It was determined that the suspect got into a vehicle with the license plate 48 AHT 851 and vanished. Immediately after the incident, Muğla Emniyet Müdürlüğü teams launched a comprehensive operation to catch the fugitive suspect. Security camera footage was examined to track the suspect's escape route. Additionally, patrols by security forces were increased at all entrances and exits in the area.

As a result of intensive police operations and intelligence work, the location where suspect Coşkun Karataş was hiding was determined. Just a few hours after the murder, at around 02.00 AM on the same night, police teams conducted an operation at a cemetery. During this operation, murder suspect Karataş was caught red-handed while hiding with the shotgun he used to commit the murder. The suspect being apprehended in a cemetery in such a short time brought relief to the citizens in the area. It was reported that Karataş, who was taken into custody, was taken in for interrogation to have his statement taken.

Details regarding the dark past of Coşkun Karataş, who was involved in the incident, also surfaced within the scope of the investigation. The research conducted and the information obtained revealed that Karataş had previously shed blood. It was learned that Karataş had previously killed the person he held responsible for the death of his sister, who lost her life due to stove poisoning in 2015. It was determined that the suspect ruthlessly killed Aytekin Köse, who was the husband of Karataş's sister, by shooting him twice in the chest in the middle of the street. This information revealed that Karataş is an extremely dangerous individual with a tendency to commit murder.
