Özgür Özel Announces He Will Establish a New Party: Aims to Become the Main Opposition with 82 Deputies

Özgür Özel, who is leaving his position as CHP Chairman, officially announced in his final group speech at the TBMM that they will establish a new party. While the official legal entity application for the party has not yet been submitted to the Ministry of Interior, it was reported that the founding process has begun and will be completed shortly.

In his farewell speech, Özel stated that they "wore a shirt of fire," claiming that their new party will be in the position of the main opposition party in terms of the number of seats in the Parliament. He emphasized that their ultimate goal is to come to power in the first general elections.

The names of the 82 deputies expected to join the new political movement have also been clarified. It was announced that many experienced figures well-known to the public, such as Mahmut Tanal, Mustafa Sarıgül, Sezgin Tanrıkulu, Veli Ağbaba, and Cemal Enginyurt, will be part of the founding board.
