Terrifying accident in Sakarya: Taşköprü's former Mal Müdürü and his wife injured

A serious traffic accident occurring at noon on the road between the Adapazarı and Kaynarca districts of Sakarya put security forces and health teams in the region on high alert. At the center of the accident were Erdoğan Üstündağ, who performed public duty as the Mal Müdürü in Taşköprü district of Kastamonu between 2015 and 2019, and his wife N.Ü. The automobile driven by Erdoğan Üstündağ, while in motion at a point known as the Karadere location, violently collided with a pickup truck that unexpectedly wanted to turn at an intersection. The injured were taken to Yenikent State Hospital, located in a position close to the Adapazarı-Kaynarca road where the accident occurred. Erdoğan Üstündağ and his wife N.Ü., whose detailed examinations were performed by health teams in the emergency department of the hospital, were taken under treatment with the effects of the trauma they experienced. After the news of the accident was heard by the public and their close circles, a curious expectation formed regarding the health status of the injured. However, hospital officials or authorities responsible for the scene avoided making an official and clear statement about whether the injured had vital threats in the first hour and after the intervention.

Gendarmerie teams continuing their investigations at the scene started work to report the formation and course of the accident in detail. The collision of the automobile coming from the Kaynarca direction and the pickup truck wanting to turn at the intersection created a reminder in terms of traffic safety. The gendarmerie started a detailed investigation process regarding whether the event was a negligent traffic accident or a rule violation by taking statements from both drivers and examining the traces at the accident site. As a result of these examinations to be made, an official report determining the cause of the accident will be prepared and necessary legal proceedings will be carried out.

Erdoğan Üstündağ being a known name as a former Mal Müdürü in Taşköprü met with interest in the local public after the accident was heard. That Üstündağ, who managed the financial affairs of the district during his duty period between 2015-2019, survived this accident was seen as a consolation by his loved ones.
