86-year-old man injured in traffic accident in Samsun Vezirköprü loses his life

A tragic traffic accident that occurred in the Vezirköprü district of Samsun resulted in one fatality. The accident happened yesterday around 16.00 on the Vezirköprü and Durağan highway, between the Yağınözü and İncesu neighborhoods. Two people in a car that went out of control and swerved into a field were injured at the scene. Mehmet Ay, an elderly man, could not be saved despite all interventions at the hospital where he was taken, and lost his life during the night. The driver, on the other hand, survived the accident with injuries and was taken under treatment at the hospital.

The car involved in the accident, with the license plate 55 EH 404, was being driven by a citizen named Yusuf Kartal. While driving, the driver suddenly lost control of the steering and went off the road. As a result, the vehicle went out of control and swerved into the field next to the road at high speed. Due to the impact of the accident, the driver and 86-year-old Mehmet Ay inside the vehicle were severely injured. Following the incident, health and security teams were dispatched to the area rapidly.

Immediately after the accident, numerous medical teams were dispatched to the scene, and first aid was administered to the injured at the scene. The driver Yusuf Kartal and the elderly man Mehmet Ay were taken to Vezirköprü Devlet Hastanesi by ambulances. During the initial examinations at the hospital, it was determined that Mehmet Ay's condition was very critical. Upon this, it was decided to transfer the elderly man to Samsun Şehir Hastanesi so that he could receive more advanced treatment.

Doctors made an intensive effort throughout the night for Mehmet Ay, who was transferred to Samsun Şehir Hastanesi. While the elderly man's life was in danger, the medical team tried to keep him alive using all their resources. Unfortunately, however, the elderly man's body could not withstand these severe injuries. Despite all medical interventions, 86-year-old Mehmet Ay lost his life during the night hours. This bitter news became a source of great sorrow for both the hospital staff and the relatives following the incident.

Security forces have launched an investigation in the area where the accident occurred, researching how the incident happened step by step. It was decided to conduct a detailed investigation regarding the accident, and the prosecutor's office took over the case. Authorities demand that drivers be careful and obey speed limits, especially on these types of highways. The body of Mehmet Ay, who lost his life in the accident, was handed over to his relatives after the procedures were completed.
