Oil-Laden Truck Overturns in Şanlıurfa: Road Filled with Oil Canisters

In a traffic accident that occurred on the Şanlıurfa-Akçakale ring road, hundreds of oil canisters were scattered on the road as a result of a truck loaded with cooking oil overturning. The truck with license plate 63 NE 022, which went out of control after the driver lost steering control, overturned by the roadside causing major material damage. With the impact of the crash, numerous oil boxes and canisters in the vehicle's trailer were thrown into the surroundings. Immediately after the incident, security measures were taken in the area and traffic was directed one-way. Details regarding whether there were any casualties or injuries in the accident were not included in the statement made by the authorities.

The Şanlıurfa-Akçakale ring road, where the accident occurred, is known as one of the routes with particularly heavy heavy-tonnage vehicle traffic. Following the overturning of the truck, transportation in the relevant section of the ring road came to a complete standstill and it was closed to vehicle traffic by the authorities. By ensuring environmental safety, it was aimed to prevent possible secondary accidents on the asphalt made slippery by the oil.

As a result of the intensive and dedicated work of the teams, the cleaning operations in the area were successfully completed. Waste materials accumulated on the sidewalks and safety lanes were removed, the ring road was reopened to vehicle traffic, and traffic flow returned to normal. Although the closure caused by the oil-laden truck caused short-term transportation problems in the area, a larger crisis was prevented thanks to the rapid response. Traffic police made their final checks for the road to become safe again and warned drivers to be careful. The local people and drivers were satisfied that the unpleasant incident was resolved in a short time.

It has been reported that a detailed investigation has been launched by the teams affiliated with the Şanlıurfa Emniyet Müdürlüğü regarding the accident. The police teams conducting investigations at the scene are continuing their examinations to determine why the truck went out of control and the main cause of the accident. It was announced that, if necessary, the truck's black box records would be referred to and the driver's statement would be taken. Authorities warned all drivers that heavy-tonnage vehicles must drive more carefully on ring roads and to comply with road safety rules.
