4 Traffic Accidents After Noah Commemoration Event in Şırnak Cudi Dağı: 1 Dead, 30 Injured

The Hazreti Nuh commemoration ceremony, traditionally held every year in Şırnak's Cudi Dağı with the intense participation of thousands of people, ended this year under the shadow of dramatic events. During the participants' return from the event area, four separate traffic accidents occurred back-to-back at short intervals in different parts of the mountainous region. As a result of these chain accidents, a total of thirty people were injured with varying degrees of severity, and unfortunately, one person in critical condition lost their life at the scene of the accident. Following the examinations conducted by the prosecutor's office and gendarmerie forces, the body of the deceased citizen named M.U. was taken to the hospital morgue. Thirty injured individuals who sustained various wounds and fractures in the accidents were transferred to nearby hospitals by ambulances after receiving initial treatment at the scene. While the treatment processes of the hospitalized injured continue, it was reported that doctors are closely monitoring the condition of a few patients who are in critical condition. Health authorities announced that they have provided additional support to strengthen the necessary blood and medical supply stocks at surrounding hospitals due to the high number of injured. Families are continuing their anxious and emotional wait in front of the hospitals to receive information about their loved ones' health conditions.

Cudi Dağı is known as one of the sacred places where, according to Islamic beliefs, Hazreti Nuh's ship anchored after the flood. Due to this spiritual context, a large number of domestic and foreign tourists, faith tourists, and citizens visit the region every year. The attempt of thousands of people to return from the mountainous area at the same time leads to massive traffic congestions and security risks, especially on winding and narrow roads.
