Security Service of Ukraine: Agent who directed Russian attacks around Kramatorsk sentenced to 15 years in prison

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced that a Russian agent, who was identified for directing Russian artillery attacks in the Donetsk region in January, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison. The verdict was delivered based on the evidence presented by the SBU counterintelligence unit and investigators.

The court confirmed that the defendant engaged in espionage and sabotage activities on behalf of Russia, also finalizing the ruling to confiscate all of their assets. It was reported that the detained individual was responsible for coordinating attacks, particularly targeting the Kramatorsk region.

Such incidents constitute a significant part of the trial process for individuals suspected of working for the Russian intelligence network during the conflict between Moscow and Kyiv. The severe sentence handed down stands out as an indicator of deterrent policies applied against those providing wartime logistics and military support.
