Efforts to control and cool the fire that started yesterday afternoon at a pallet sales company operating in the city center of Valladolid are continuing uninterrupted. A full crew of six personnel from the fire brigade will remain in the area all day to ensure the facility, located between the Pinar de Jalón neighborhood and the N-601 highway near the scene, becomes completely safe. Although the flames were brought under control during the night, the teams' primary task is to direct water to various points of the facility to lower the temperature in the area and minimize the risk of reignition.

The fire broke out around 19.40 for an undetermined reason and grew rapidly to create a dangerous situation. In the initial stage, the flames advanced uncontrollably, leading to the dispatch of 16 firefighters from the Valladolid Fire Department and 30 local police officers for traffic management. Additionally, teams from the Castilla y León Junta, the Provincial Council, and Civil Protection provided support at the scene, demonstrating extensive coordination. As a result of intense efforts, the fire was brought under control approximately two and a half hours after it started.

The intensity of the firefighting efforts and the fire caused serious damage to the equipment of the intervening teams. According to a statement by Alberto Cuadrado, Member of the Valladolid City Council for Health and Citizen Security, a large pump vehicle and a water supply vehicle known as a 'nodriza' became unusable during the Fire Department's intervention. These vehicle losses are a clear indicator of the severity of the fire and the difficult conditions under which the firefighters worked.

During the development of the incident, measures were taken not only to respond to the fire but also regarding environmental security and traffic flow. Police forces took extensive measures to regulate traffic and ensure safety in the region, opening and closing roads in a controlled manner. Since the uncontrolled spread of the flames in the first stage posed a risk of causing panic in surrounding areas, security measures were not limited to the immediate region but were intensified across the general vicinity.

The measures taken after the fire was fully extinguished are continuing in the next phase. Continuous surveillance was maintained throughout the night with guards stationed in the area to prevent the fire from reigniting in case the wind changed direction or intensified. According to statements from Valladolid Fire Department officials, the teams' presence in the area and cooling operations are planned to continue until the afternoon. During this period, the goal is to ensure the area is completely cooled and that no hidden fire pockets remain.
