August and September Pension Payment Dates Announced in Yunanistan

The Yunanistan Social Security Institute (e-EFKA) officially announced the pension payment dates for August and September of 2026. This announcement clarified the financial calendar expected by millions of pensioners, enabling citizens to make budget plans. Since the Yunan pension system is divided into two main categories as salaried (mİşthotoi) and independent/craftsmen (an-mİşthotoi), the payment dates are also shaped according to this distinction. This structural distinction in the system stems from the merger of former different social security funds and brings along different payment days for each group. In this context, pensioners will receive their salaries on different days in August and September according to the fund category they belong to, just as they do every month.

For the August 2026 payments, the first date has been determined as Tuesday, 28 July 2026. On this date, main pensions from former independent workers' funds (OAEE, OGA and ETAA) will be paid. In addition, main pensions allocated under law no. 4387/2016 after the establishment of EFKA and operated through the OPS-EFKA system will also be included in this group and paid on the same day. In addition to these, payments for all supplementary (secondary) pensions belonging to both independent and salaried workers in the private sector will also be made on 28 July. This arrangement guarantees that independent worker pensioners and those receiving supplementary pensions in the private sector receive their payments before the end of the month.

The second payment date for August has been announced as Thursday, 30 July 2026. Payments on this date cover main pensions received from former salaried workers' funds (IKA-ETAM, banks, OTE, DEI and other integrated funds). On the same day, main and supplementary pension payments belonging to the public sector (State) will also be deposited into accounts. Public personnel pensioners and those retired from former public subsidiaries and the banking sector will also receive their salaries on this date. This detailed classification clearly demonstrates the current reflections of Yunanistan's complex social security history.

The payment calendar for September 2026 operates with a logic completely parallel to that of August, but on dates one day earlier. The independent workers and private sector supplementary pension payments for September will be made on Wednesday, 26 August 2026. These payments cover former independent funds, the new EFKA system after 2017, and all supplementary pensions in the private sector. Shifting the calendar to the beginning of the month offers pensioners the opportunity to have financial mobility in the first week of their month. Thus, pensioners find the chance to plan their September living expenses early, regardless of their allocation categories.

The second and final payment group for September will receive their salaries on Friday, 28 August 2026. Those in this group consist of those retired from former salaried workers' funds (IKA-ETAM, banks, OTE, DEI, NAT, ETAT, ETAP-MME, etc.) and those receiving public sector main and supplementary pension salaries. This systematic payment schedule applied in both months reinforces the standard and predictable structure of e-EFKA in salary distribution processes. As a result, pensioners in Yunanistan now know exactly on which date they will receive their payments for August and September, and thus can make their daily financial plans accordingly.
