F tragic accident on return from a funeral in Amasya: 3 people from the same family lose their lives

The painful incident experienced by a family returning from a funeral ceremony in Amasya caused deep sorrow in the region. The Bilir family, who set off for their hometown of Amasya after attending a relative's funeral in Antalya, had a tragic accident only 25 kilometers away from their home. In the accident, which occurred as a result of a collision between the light commercial vehicle the family was in and a tractor, many people lost their lives and were injured according to initial reports. Following the incident, police, gendarmerie, and medical teams were immediately dispatched to the region, and a large-scale rescue and intervention operation was initiated. This tragic event created a huge shock effect on both the family's relatives and the local people.

According to the information obtained, the vehicle involved in the accident was a Tofaş Fiat Doblo model commercial vehicle belonging to the Bilir family, driven by Mehmet Bilir. In the incident, which occurred around the Gökhöyük junction in the central district of Amasya, it was reported that the commercial vehicle went out of control and crashed into a tractor driven by Osman Şahin. After the violent collision, the commercial vehicle went off the road and plunged into a ditch, making the severity of the accident even worse. It is evaluated that the road construction works at the point where the accident occurred negatively affected the traffic and visibility. Security forces conducted examinations at the scene to determine the exact cause of the accident, and it was emphasized that traffic safety measures in the region need to be increased.

Among those who lost their lives in this tragic accident were the driver of the vehicle, Mehmet Bilir, his older brother Yavuz Bilir, and their elderly mother Fatma Bilir. It was determined that the driver Mehmet Bilir lost his life at the scene due to the impact of the accident, while the conditions of the other two family members were severe. The injured Yavuz and Fatma Bilir were immediately taken to the hospital by 112 emergency service teams after their initial treatments at the scene. However, despite all the medical interventions made after their arrival at the hospital, they unfortunately could not be saved and lost their lives. The fact that three people from the same family lost their lives made the journey back from the funeral even more tragic.

The others who were severely injured and taken under treatment in the accident were Müzeyyen Bilir and Selma Bilir, who were in the vehicle, and Osman Şahin, the driver of the tractor they collided with. The injured were dispatched to various hospitals, where they were taken under treatment in intensive care units and relevant wards. Health authorities announced that the conditions of the injured remain serious and that developments are being monitored hour by hour. Meanwhile, a comprehensive judicial investigation has been officially launched by the Amasya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and law enforcement forces regarding the accident. Within the scope of the investigation, many factors such as the technical inspections of the vehicles, the speeds of the drivers while driving, and the condition of the road are being examined in detail.

On the other hand, citizens living in the region where the accident occurred state that such traffic accidents have become an unacceptable routine. Local resident Yılmaz Kara stated that the ongoing road construction works in this section affect traffic dangerously and that similar accidents happen frequently. Kara and other citizens called on the authorities to complete the road work as soon as possible and to place the necessary warning signs flawlessly. This tragic incident, in which three people lost their lives, caused traffic safety and infrastructure investments to be discussed again nationwide.
