In a CNBC broadcast, Karp specifically accused companies producing large language models (LLMs) of stealing their customers' intellectual property and demanding high fees for valueless services. Karp argued that artificial intelligence models carry the risk of accessing customer data and trade secrets, using them for their own interests.

Support for Karp's criticisms was not delayed; the White House's former artificial intelligence advisor David Sacks also made a statement endorsing these views. Sacks exemplified the strategy of companies like Anthropic dominating the market by directly entering the fields of successful ventures built on their own models as one of the biggest problems in the industry.
