20 dönüm of area turned to ashes in the forest fire in Karacasu district of Aydın

In the forest fire that broke out around 04.00 in the morning at the foothills of Babadağ in Aydın's Karacasu district, approximately 20 dönüm of forested area was damaged. The fire, which started for an undetermined reason in the forested area bordering Yeniköy and Dikmen Mahallesi, caused panic in the surrounding neighborhoods due to the wind.

While local residents made the first intervention to the flames with their own water tankers, professional teams consisting of 5 water tenders and 2 water tankers belonging to the Forestry Management Directorate were dispatched to the scene upon notification. Aydın Metropolitan Municipality and fire department teams also supported the extinguishing efforts.

As a result of intensive efforts that continued uninterrupted until morning despite difficult terrain conditions, the fire was brought under control. Following the suppression of the flames in the region, cooling efforts were carried out for a long time. A large-scale investigation was launched by the authorities to determine the cause of the fire.
