During the visit, she inaugurated the Maternal and Child Health Block and the Operation Theatre at the Tangmarg Sub-District Hospital, the Auditorium at Tarhama Higher Secondary School, and the New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) at Lalpora. These ceremonies were accompanied by Gulmarg MLA Peerzada Farooq Ahmad Shah, directors of relevant departments, senior officials of the Baramulla district administration, and other officials.
Speaking after the opening of the new health facilities to the public, Minister Sakeena Itoo emphasized the government's determination to ensure quality health services reach every citizen, particularly women, children, and those living in remote areas. Itoo stated that the newly inaugurated facilities would significantly improve maternal and neonatal health services, strengthen emergency medical services, and enable treatment to be provided at an earlier stage by reducing referrals to tertiary care hospitals. She expressed that the government is continuously investing in modern health infrastructure, advanced medical equipment, and better facilities across the Union Territory, and that these improvements are being pursued with a people-centric approach. The Minister then inaugurated the newly constructed Auditorium at Tarhama Higher Secondary School, stating that quality education is the foundation of a progressive society. Drawing attention to the fact that modern educational infrastructure offers students opportunities to develop themselves not only academically but also in cultural and creative fields, she expressed her hope that the new hall would serve as a vibrant center for learning, innovation, and extracurricular activities.
At another stop of the visit, Minister Itoo inaugurated the New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) at Lalpora in the presence of former Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah. Addressing the public here, the Minister stated that the new health facility would improve access to quality primary health services for the local population, reflecting the government's determination to provide better health services at the grassroots level. She invited citizens to fully benefit from the upgraded health infrastructure and assured that efforts to further strengthen public services would continue.
Speaking at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, MLA Peerzada Farooq Ahmad Shah conveyed his thanks to the government for fulfilling long-standing public demands by establishing vital health and education infrastructure in the constituency.
