Police and War Weapons Seized in Cartago

As a result of a major operation carried out against criminals in the state of Cartago, authorities have recently succeeded in seizing a significant amount of weapons and ammunition. This raid, conducted in the San Blas region, took place as part of a coordinated plan aimed at striking a blow against the logistical capacity of criminal organizations. The operation is recorded as a significant success for the security forces in the region, while the magnitude of the material seized highlights the seriousness of the situation.

The operation, coordinated by the Cartago Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ), was also supported by the country's general police force, the Fuerza Pública, and local municipal police units. The joint task force formed by the coming together of these forces targeted a point in the town of San Blas, specifically two kilometers north of the former Hogares Crea institution. This operation clearly demonstrates the cooperation between different security units and their determination to combat crime.

During the raid carried out by the police teams, a massive arsenal was found hidden in the searched residence and a vehicle. Among the seized items were heavy weapons that could be classified as weapons of war, ammunition in various calibers in large quantities, and official uniforms belonging to the police force. The discovery of clothing used by the police, in addition to the weapons, raises the possibility that the criminal organization is operating by imitating security forces.

In the investigations, it was shared that individuals of various foreign nationalities, who were in violation of immigration laws, were also detected in the area where the weapons and ammunition were found. This situation creates strong suspicions that arms smuggling and illegal immigrant smuggling activities are managed from the same center. The detained foreigners have been handed over to prosecution units to have their roles in this operation and their relationship with the organization examined in detail.

As the investigation deepens, studies continue uninterruptedly to determine the routes by which the seized war weapons were brought into the country and the targets for which these weapons would be used. The finding of police uniforms in such large quantities is of great importance in preventing potential crimes or acts of violence planned by using the identity of security forces. Officials emphasize that legal processes will be initiated against the suspects and the event will be fully illuminated after the completion of the ongoing technical and administrative investigations.
