Car Crashing into Parked Vehicles in Çorum Caused an Accident: 4 Injured

In a traffic accident that occurred during the night hours on Dr. İlhan Gürel Street in Çorum, 4 people were injured as a result of an out-of-control car crashing into parked vehicles. The fact that one of the vehicles involved in the accident was a police patrol car made the incident even more interesting. While this chain-reaction accident caused unease among local residents during the night, a large number of health and police teams were dispatched to the area immediately after. In the initial examinations conducted at the scene, it was determined that the driver lost control and caused the accident. As a precaution, the road was closed to traffic, and a comprehensive investigation was launched.

It was reported that the BMW car driven by A.Ç. suddenly went out of control while driving on the road during the accident. The out-of-control vehicle first crashed at high speed into a parked Opel car on the road. Spun by the force of the collision, the car continued forward for a while, unable to stop. Afterwards, the spinning vehicle finally came to a halt by crashing into an official police patrol vehicle belonging to the security forces patrolling the area. These violent collisions left significant material damage to the vehicles and caused panic among the surrounding citizens. Citizens in the vicinity who witnessed the incident immediately reported the situation to the relevant emergency lines.

Although a real disaster was averted at the scene following the collision, a total of four people were injured in varying degrees in the accident. Among the injured was A.Ç., the driver of the BMW that caused the accident, and two people were the officers on duty in the police patrol car struck by the spinning vehicle. The fourth injured person was announced to be a civilian who was inside or near the parked Opel vehicle. Health teams, who arrived at the scene immediately after the report, professionally administered first aid to the injured at the scene. After the injuries and bruises of the wounded were stabilized, they were transported to the emergency room accompanied by ambulances.

Following the initial interventions performed on-site by the health teams, all the injured were taken to Hitit Üniversitesi Erol Olçok Training and Research Hospital located in Çorum. The injured who arrived at the hospital were immediately placed under treatment, and the necessary medical interventions were administered under the supervision of specialist doctors. According to the latest information obtained from hospital authorities, it was learned that the general health conditions of the four injured individuals receiving treatment are quite good and their lives are not in danger. This situation brought great relief to both the authorities and the relatives of the injured, considering the severity of the accident. It was stated that the necessary examination and treatment processes are ongoing for the injured, who are kept under observation in the hospital, to fully recover and be discharged.

Traffic police teams who arrived to inspect the scene announced that a detailed investigation has been launched regarding the accident. The teams took extensive security measures on the street where the accident occurred to ensure traffic safety and directed tow trucks to remove the wrecked vehicles. After the inspection process was completed, the damaged and scrapped vehicles on the road were safely towed to the parking lot. In the investigation, where the driver's statement and the camera footage in the vehicles were also referenced, it is aimed to determine whether the accident was caused by a mechanical failure or driver error. Authorities announced that judicial and administrative processes regarding the matter are being carried out and efforts are being made to take all necessary precautions to prevent similar accidents.
