CTE Family Union Assignments Application Process and Requirements Announced

The detailed calendar and application requirements for the family union assignments to be made under the scope of excuses for the second period of 2026 by the General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses (CTE) have been clarified. Under this application, which enables civil servants to serve in provinces or regions where their relatives are located, it was announced how applications will be made in a digital environment and what conditions candidates must meet. The timing, one of the most critical stages of the application process, will start on July 13, 2026, and end on July 24, 2026, according to the finalized calendar. It was stated that applications made by relevant personnel outside this two-week application window will not be accepted, and the process will be conducted entirely electronically. Candidates are required to upload documents proving they meet the conditions to the system without omission and to obtain an appointment; they are requested to act meticulously to avoid errors in this process.

One of the most important basic conditions sought for candidates to apply is the requirement to have at least one year (365 days) of actual service in the civil service cadre. This condition shows that the person has adapted to the institution they work for and completed their basic service period, while also constituting a lower limit in terms of institutional continuity. To avoid doubt in the calculation of the service period, it is important for candidates to check the start dates in their personnel records and personal files. Personnel who do not meet this criterion will unfortunately have their assignment requests due to family union excuses automatically rejected by the system.

Another mandatory requirement, directly related to salary and social security rights, is the completion of the 360-day Social Security Institution (SGK) premium period. Candidates need to check the adequacy of their premium days counting backwards from the application date and ensure there are no missing premiums. It is known that premium periods carry critical value, not only for this assignment type but also for the preservation of general seniority rights. The SGK service record being up-to-date and error-free is one of the most important elements to be confirmed during the approval phase of the application.

The final stage of the assignment process involves uploading documents to the system that prove the existence of the excuse and officialize the family bond. These documents include official paperwork such as a copy of the marriage certificate, a letter from the spouse's workplace, or a residence document, and the validity and accuracy of each document are meticulously examined by the provincial administrations. Additionally, a wide range of province and district options is presented to personnel requesting family union assignments to exercise their right to choose the settlement place.
