Usury operation in Denizli's Sarayköy: 3 suspects arrested

It was reported that a comprehensive operation was carried out against the crime of usury, where citizens were indebted with high interest rates, in the Sarayköy district of Denizli. Denizli Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams, acting within the scope of the investigation conducted under the coordination of Sarayköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, tracked the suspects and made a detailed plan for the operation. In simultaneous raids, a total of 4 suspects, alleged to have engaged in usury by lending money to others for profit, were detained. In searches conducted at the suspects' residences and on their persons, numerous materials considered as evidence of the crime were seized. This process, initiated to prevent illegal financial activities in the region, also garnered great appreciation from the local public.

During meticulous searches conducted by the gendarmerie teams, it was revealed that the issue was not limited to usury but extended to a much wider illegal network. The 4 detained suspects were prepared to be referred to the courthouse after interrogation and procedures at the gendarmerie station. Although the suspects, whose statements were taken at the prosecutor's office, denied the charges, the seized evidence was sufficient to convince the prosecutor's office and the magistrate. Out of the suspects brought before the duty magistrate judge, 3 were arrested and sent to prison by the court upon the arrest request. The court ruled to release the remaining 1 suspect, applying judicial control conditions such as a ban on leaving the country and signing in at regular intervals.
