Coast Guard Command teams in the Aegean Sea brought a total of 89 migrants ashore in operations carried out within the scope of combating irregular migration. In three separate operations off Çeşme, Menderes, and Didim, it was determined that migrants were pushed into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements.
In the first operation, 30 migrants in a rubber boat off Çeşme were rescued; in the second operation, 27 migrants drifting in a life raft off Menderes were rescued. In the third operation, 32 migrants, including 3 children, were apprehended in a boat detected by mobile radar off Didim.
All rescued and apprehended migrants were handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management after the completion of physical and judicial procedures. The incidents show that Greece's pushback policy in the Aegean continues.
