Dutch manager Erik ten Hag has left the door open to the possibility of taking charge of the Netherlands national football team in the future. Currently serving as the head coach of FC Twente, ten Hag expressed that he could evaluate this position in the near future.
The experienced coach stated that there is no need for the KNVB (Royal Dutch Football Association) to contact him after current head coach Ronald Koeman, effectively revealing that he is open to candidacy. Indicating that he could take on this role 'maybe in two years', ten Hag also suggested that he is making a long-term plan.
Although he does not tie the national team offer to a specific timeframe, ten Hag's experience in football and his deep-rooted history in Dutch football keep him constantly in the conversation for this role. The developments raise questions about the shape of the new era in Dutch football following the end of Koeman's tenure.
